CTCC 3rd XI vs Halstead

A bad day at the office the third X1 this week. Having lost the toss Coggy bowled first and started extremely well. A superb first spell of bowling from Paul Brown helped to limit Halstead to just three an over for the first 10-12 overs. Halstead then pushed on with two players going on to get 50s. Paul Brown finished with two wickets, Mark Butler with three and Neil Willis got one caught and bowled with his last delivery as Halstead finished on 250-6.
Coggy’s batting performance left much to be desired. 2 ducks, only one person getting into double figures and scoring almost half of the overall total tells the story. Kane Addison batted well after opening getting 36, however the rest of the batting line up capitulated and were bowled out for 88.
A resounding loss this week, but we move onto next week in the hope of a first win of the season. A note should go to Kane Addison and Paul Brown for their personal displays with bat and ball respectively
