On the hottest day of the year, it was a first for the club when our new women’s softball team ‘Coggeshall Spinners’ played their first competitive match at Harefield.

The Spinners hosted ‘Terling Thunder’ and ‘Roding Rockets’ for a 3-way tournament in front of a supportive crowd who kept Casino busy at the bar as they enjoyed the fabulous weather.

The Spinners won their first match against Terling then lost out to a more experienced Roding team.

The PA system was up and running so we had music and commentary throughout our matches which added to the fun atmosphere.

Thank you to Dan for scoring, CTCC U12’s George and Finley for doing a great job umpiring, CTCC U18 Jack for DJ’ing and to Doug for his commentating and managing to keep it clean!

For anyone interested in trying Womens softball cricket, we train on Wednesday evenings 6.30pm - 8pm, it’s great fun, we’re a very friendly bunch so come and give it a go!
