CTCC 2nd XI travelled to Little Bardfield Village full of confidence after 3 wins and with another strong side. However with awful weather around it was more in hope of a full game rather than expectation. A wet wicket meant that the toss was crucial and again stand-in Captain Craig "Legs are fully functional again" Lesiak did not disappoint winning the toss and inserting the home team. Opening pair Tommy "where am I?" Pickles and Adam Egg immediately put the opposition under pressure with Egg making in-roads in his 2nd over showing what a difficult wicket it was to bat on. Tommy P tired rapidly and his line and length left him giving the LBV batsmen 1 or 2 opportunities to score runs. Changes of bowling at both ends brought immediate returns for CTCC with CL taking a wicket in his first over. The 2nd bowling change brought on 1st teamer Jimmy "all rounder" Reece who began to go through the opposition with some hooping in-swing. Unfortunately as the batsmen were disappearing so was the likelihood of a result as the wind picked up and the clouds gathered. The first hint of trouble was when the site-screen blew over as the bowler was in mid run-up. Having re-positioned the screen the game continued briefly before rain started and caused the match to be abandoned. Our thanks go to Little Bardfield Village for their efforts in getting the game started particularly given their availability issues.
