CTCC U12s vs Sudbury

Congratulations to Sudbury for their win against us this evening.

We had a very inexperienced team out, and our lads should hold their heads up high we played 5 newbies this evening and they all got to bowl an over and all had a bat!!

The lads will need to blame the team manager for going to get the tea ready whilst a wicket fell and sending out another newbie!! The "rugby" lads did a great job of staying in, unfortunately having 2 in at the same time and not having any cricketing experience, the run rate slowed. Not the boys fault at all seeing as I had told them just to block any ball going towards their stumps, and try not to give their wickets away!! They did that brilliantly and I was very impressed with their staying ability. Unfortunately the 103 wasn't quiet enough to hold off the very impressive batting of the Sudbury boys, and although they only lost one wicket and retired another player AND we bowled ALL our newbies, they still took 16 overs to over come our total.

I hope everyone enjoyed the game and a big thank you to the Sudbury coach for giving our newbies so much help out in the middle. Also a big thank you to Jack Raine for becoming a super sub and playing for Sudbury this evening as they were a man down. Look forward to seeing the lads either, Saturday , Sunday for the match or Monday for training
