Coggeshall 83 all out, Mistley 69 all out

A last minute dash to get a team together for last night's game resulted in a handful of less experienced players being included in our team. It's a credit to all that we came away with a win - everyone played their part, with some notable performances from the younger players.

Choosing to bat first, Coggeshall opening pair McCabe and Gibson got the ball rolling, but Louis fell early to a caught and bowled from Hawes - who proved to be Mistley's best bowler (4 wickets for 7 runs). McCabe stayed in to the death scoring a match winning 57. Maxi Brassington was the second highest scorer with 13.

Sadly too many 0's in the score book !! A lot of missed singles!! But a very defendable 83 total.

On to our bowling performance - Louis opened the bowling with a wicket maiden, followed by Jacob Ford taking another wicket quickly. Louis' 4 wickets for 2 runs from 4 overs was an exceptional performance, Jonjo's hattrick of wickets in the final over finished off a great match for him, Jacob,and Alisdair cleaned up the remaining wickets , a maiden over from Xander,, some incredibly tight bowling from Ben Speakman, Sam cousins and Will Wright and a great catch from Max all assisted our win!!

Mistley scored 49 runs - with 20 extras (wides counting for 2 runs). Their top scorer was Will Kempster who scored 42 - bring it on for Peter Coe, Will!

So great job boys! And thanks to the parents who bust a gut getting their boys to the match.
